Mariachi San Patricio Band

Established in 2011, Mariachi San Patricio has been proudly celebrating the great tradition of Mexican mariachi music in Ireland for over 10 years. The band is christened San Patricio after the brave St. Patrick's Battalion, an Irish regiment who fought and died for Mexico in the Mexican-American War of 1846-48. The name is a nod toward a beautiful coming together of Mexican and Irish cultures, represented here by the soulful gritos of Ireland's only full mariachi. The ensemble has travelled all over the island of Ireland sharing and honouring the beauty of mariachi music. What started as a passion project bringing the spirit of Jalisco to the heart of Dublin City has since become a moveable fiesta of music, colour and joy.
