Make your own zine workshop, and exhibition. As part of Culture Night 2026, enjoy this workshop hosted by Jennifer Cunningham. A whizz-bang introduction into zines, the little booklets that could. In this workshop you will be learning to make your own 8 page folded zine, bringing your own idea to life.
Along side the workshop there will be an exhibition of Artwork, Artists books and round robin sketchbooks made by Jennifer and members of her local community.
Take the chance to make your own zine inspired by the artwork in the exhibition.Zines are self-published non-profit publications with a history rooted in DIY cultures and methods of production, created as an alternative to mainstream publishing. The workshop introduces the basics of zine making, exploring different types of zines and self-published works. Zine (like magazine) is a handmade publication or mini book that you make yourself with a focus on being low cost to make, produce and can be about almost anything. .Each participant will go away with their own zine, a how-to fold worksheet and hopefully a new love for zine making. Materials will be provided but feel free to bring old books/ newspapers/photocopies or other material that you may want to collage.
