"I half remember that..."

A duo exhibition of recent artworks and film by visual artists Brían Crotty and Ciara Rodgers. “I half remember that…” (15/09/20 – 17/09/20) is an exhibition and film screening of recent artworks by visual artists Brían Crotty and Ciara Rodgers. Real and imagined histories are displayed through various media as the artists question where exactly truth and fiction exist in the 21st Century landscape. A sense of nostalgia, satire and a voice for the underappreciated, underpin the ideas broached in this collection of artworks, curated by Ciara Rodgers.
Film screening: Red Mary Red was written and directed by visual artist Brían Crotty in 2020 and stars Jon Whitty, Rosie O’Regan, Conor O’Riordan and Frank Prendergast. The film sets out to investigate the relationship between a fictionalised version of a real life 18th century highwayman William Crotty and the general Irish population.
Throughout the challenges of lockdowns, these two artists’ shared ethos has been to make quality arts experiences accessible to all through their work at Macroom School of Art and community outreach programmes funded by the Creative Ireland Fund, Cork County Council Arts and philanthropy from private organisations.
