Carlow-born tenor Paul Hennessy is one of Ireland’s top entertainers. He has been singing professionally for the past eight years, and he has two albums and dozens of television and radio appearances to his credit.He is a regular star at some or Ireland’s top cabaret venues and has toured the U.S.A. on several occasions. For the past three years he has been a performer during the All-Ireland football and hurling finals at Croke Park, Dublin.

After an early start in the world of Opera, Emer Barry found her true calling in the classical crossover genre. Her YouTube channel boasts an impressive 4 million views across the streaming platform and her global following is continuously growing. She shares the channel with award winning Celtic/Classical trio Affiniti (Harp, Violin and Soprano). 

Maria Matthews is a recent graduate from the DIT Conservatory of music and Drama and has competed and been successful in numerous Sligo Feis Ceoil and Dublin Feis Ceoil competitions, winning the bursary for most promising young singer in Sligo Feis Ceoil 2013 and the Senior Vocal Bursary in 2018. As well as this Maria has also been a member of the RTE concert orchestra chorus.

Fintan Farrelly is a well respected music director. A native of Longford, Fintan has acted as rehearsal accompanist for Mullingar Choral Society since Carmina Burana in 1993. Fintan works as accompanist for The National Children’s Choir. He is musical director of The Millennium Choir, Longford County Choir and St. Mel’s Musical Society. A Principal Teacher in St. Dominic’s NS, Kenagh, Co. Longford, he is also the organist and choir master in St. Mel’s Cathedral.

Sound Harvest

Sound Harvest is a unique collaboration between musicians and poets curated by Poet Anne Tully and Musician Shane Kennedy.

Poets select a piece of writing and work with a musician to develop a performance piece involving both sound scapes and the poet’s voice.

The finished works will be performed by poets and musicians in the beautiful surroundings of The Jolly Boy’s outdoor garden restaurant in Ballymahon.  Join us for some food, poetry and music.

The African Music Carnival

John Asiemo, popularly known as Daddy Showkey, tops the bill on what will be Longford’s first ever dedicated African Music Carnival.  Daddy Showkey will be supported by emerging music prodigies Ama Millieir and ND+. Daddy Showkey performs in the galala music tradition – a dance and music form made popular by afro-reggae musicians in Lagos, Nigeria in the 1990s.  Now living in Ireland and performing throughout Europe with his band, Daddy Showkey is performing in Ireland for the first time.

Daddy Showkey is ably supported by Ama Millieir.  Nigerian born and Irish raised, Ama is a Hip Hop artist from Longford Town. He is an up and coming Independent artist who has been gaining popularity and a reputation in the Irish music scene as being an exceptionally talented singer/songwriter and rapper. In 2017 Ama released his first EP “Just A Moment” which solidified him in the Irish music scene. Ama has been working diligently over the past number of years on developing his art in creating a new sound in R&B/Pop/Hip Hop.
