Description:

Living off the land: Irelands heritage wool crafts from past to present with Eimear O’Neill.

Wool is an abundant resource in Leitrim, one that was always part of our culture, but has been less valued in recent years.

Eimear O’Neill will show you how to take a sheep’s fleece and turn it into yarn for knitting, just as our ancestors did before us, in a talk and demonstration. Join us to share experiences about this heritage craft, learn how sustainable it is as a method of clothing production (so important in this era of fast fashion!) and see how Irish wool crafts have evolved and modernised in recent years.

This Culture Night, get together with like minded people to share, learn, celebrate the past and start that journey to spin again.
