Celebrate Culture Night 2026 with a free, hands-on felted landscape workshop for children at Loughrea Resource Centre. Using beautifully soft merino wool, children will discover the magic of traditional wet felting as they create their own colourful landscape to take home. There are no rules and no experience needed—just imagination, curiosity and a willingness to get creative.
As a textile artist and art educator, Joanne Foley loves introducing children to the wonderful qualities of natural wool. It’s a tactile, calming and sustainable material that encourages creativity, confidence and self-expression while connecting us with nature.
This workshop is designed to be relaxed, fun and welcoming for all abilities. Parents are very welcome to stay and join in if they wish, making it a lovely opportunity to create something together. Whether your child already loves art or simply enjoys trying something new, this is the perfect afternoon of creativity, colour and community.
