Life is Better with Music, The Photography of John Coffey

John Coffey grew up in Newbridge at the moment Newbridge changed the world of folk music forever. Christy Moore, Donal Lunny, Andy Irvine and Liam OFlynn formed Planxty and Planxty became the force to revolutionise Irish music at revolutionary times for Ireland. John Coffey and his camera followed them on their journey and results are a glorious collection of pictures of the folk that made Folk. Along the way, we meet the men and women who populated this world.
On Culture Night, visit this special exhibition which will take place in the home of folk music in South Kildare, Clancy's Bar on Leinster Street where Liam O'Flynn's Made Of Athy plaque hangs outside and his whistle hangs inside.
