Laois - Stradbally

Online Earth Art Workshop, with artist Aishling Hennessy,  filmed at Laois Arthouse, garden area, saw participants connect back to their roots and embrace the joy of creating art on wood.  Using earth inspired imagery or imaginative composition, participants painted onto beautiful discs of birch wood. These discs of wood were joined together to form a wonderful earth art instillation.   An exhibition of this work  and work by members of the Laois Arthouse Collective will be on display for visitors to view from 2pm -8pm at the Gallery at Laois Arthouse for Culture Night.

You are invited to view a short film of workshop footage of EcoPrint on Paper, facilitated by Angelina Foster in Laois Arthouse, with a small physically distanced group. Prints created by participants will be exhibited alongside the Laois Art Collective Culture Night Exhibition so come along and view their beautiful work.
Participants created their own natural, botanical art prints on paper, using leaves and flowers from the local trees and plants in Stradbally.
Exploring the magnificent energy of the trees as they foraged materials. Then, learning traditional dyeing skills and experimenting with different natural dyes and layouts on handmade papers, workshop participants captured the spirit of our lush Laois landscape. 

As an artist and printmaker, Angelina Foster is inspired by words, stories, and symbols from Ireland’s past. Her hands-on immersive workshops, which feature ancient crafts including printing, natural dye, book-binding, and grave-rubbing, give you the chance to explore your own creativity and be inspired by traditional stories and techniques.
