For quite some time, local man Ray Ford of Events, Audio Visual dreamed of a music trail weaving through Ballina’s historic laneways. These laneways are steeped in history and culture and bringing them to life with music has truly been a harmonious endeavour. Thanks to the generous support of Culture Ireland, the Mayo Arts Office, The Clarke Museum of Irish History, Event Audio Visual and Ballina Autism Friendly town, we’ve now brought this vision to life for the second year in a row, ‘Lane Ways and Sessions.”

So, Culture Night 2026 kicks off in style with an exciting warm-up at the Clarke Museum of Irish History, on Walsh Street. Come join us at 6 PM to get the evening started with vibrant energy! We’ll begin with the delightful ‘Cuimsiú’ session, led by the talented Hannah Dunford and her amazing friends, creating a truly inclusive and joyous atmosphere. Following on we will be treated to the dynamic sounds of the Bofield Ceili Band, whose lively tunes will get everyone dancing, along with the mesmerising rhythms of Atlantic Rhythm/Moffatt School of Dancing, bringing a fusion of musical styles that will captivate and energise the crowd.” for the kick-off our “Lanes & Sessions at 7pm,

So, by then you will be Raring to Go for a Magical, Musical, Evening Adventure!  Have you ever wondered what happens in Ballina’s secret laneways after dark? On Culture Night, they are going to be transformed into a magical musical maze, and everyone is invited to explore!

And the publics Mission is

To follow the sounds and discover all the different types of music hiding around every corner. It’s a musical treasure hunt through the town!

Each laneway you explore will have a completely different kind of music for you to enjoy. You can wander through them all on a brilliant musical journey.
