Land Pigments and Paints – Colours from rocks and stones workshop with artist Annie Hogg

- Offline
Description:
Join us for a two hour workshop where the world of paint making from the stones under our feet is explored.
We will investigate how the island of Ireland came into existence, and what rocks we can find that tell it’s story.
From here we will learn how to know stone has colour potential and then turn some of these stones and rocks into a dry pigment allowing us to transform these stones into environmentally and animal friendly paint which can be used on paper or wood.
Using other natural materials, we will learn how to change our primary mineral shade.
This is a hands on workshop, all materials and safety gear will be provided. Each participant will go home with a mineral pigment and/or a mineral paint, created from stones and rocks in our environment.
