Brewery Lane Theatre in Carrick-on-Suir, in association with access>cinema, will be showing a series of short films from around the world aimed at 3-6 year olds and 7-10 year olds. These will be mainly dialogue-free, so for all nationalities to enjoy!

‘Shorts for Wee Ones’ – 4:45pm

This collection of seven short films from around the world is sure to delight and amuse our youngest viewers. Featuring curious capybaras, chef mushrooms, colourful body cells, woodland animals, an affectionate (and very hungry) crocodile, a voiceless cockerel, and a little girl who best communicates through drawings; the films in this programme focus on friendship and accepting difference; as well as promoting cooperation and understanding. All of these short films are dialogue free except for one film in English. These magical tales will delight children age 3+ and are a colourful introduction to the cinema experience. Runtime: 50 min.

‘Shorts for Families’ – 6pm

This collection of short films for age 7+ explores how curiosity drives our characters forward: a little girl discovers the universe outside of her phone screen; a robot bee working on a hive on Mars finds out the strange powers of an odd plant; Lola finds a powerful way to communicate with her neurodiverse brother; a child accompanied by an otter-like creature sets out to find a cure for water shortage; and a mischievous little wolf gets everyone involved in a messy, playful way of life. All of these short films are dialogue free except for one film in French with English subtitles. Runtime: 70 min.
