Present day Killorglin is part of a 1000 year-old-story that finds part of its expression in its remaining calendar traditions. Each year customs are enacted, many of which are shared across Ireland and a few that are exclusive to South Kerry. The Irish marking of time has always been unique, whether coming from the Celts, pastoral and farming practices or religion. Killorglin native Michael Houlihan will make 45 minute presentation on remaining calendar customs, their origins and what they mean to us today.
Time: 6pm - 6.45pm
Address: Blacksmiths Yard, The Olde Forge, Killorglin
