HENNA-TASTIC! Design Your Own Henna is an interactive, family-friendly cultural experience that invites people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities to explore the beauty and symbolism of traditional henna art in a fun, creative, and inclusive way.

As part of Culture Night Belfast, participants will have the unique opportunity to design their own henna-inspired artwork before or during the event and then have their design professionally applied as natural henna on the night. This transforms visitors from passive observers into active creators, encouraging self-expression, cultural curiosity, and meaningful engagement with an ancient art form that spans generations and continents.

Henna has been used for thousands of years across South Asia, the Middle East, and North Africa as a form of celebration, storytelling, adornment, and connection. Through HENNA-TASTIC!, participants will learn about the cultural significance of henna while creating a design that reflects their own personality, story, or imagination.

The activity is designed to be welcoming and accessible to everyone regardless of age, culture, artistic experience, or ability. Participants can create simple or intricate designs, making the experience equally enjoyable for children, young people, adults, and older generations.

The project will be led by internationall certified henna artist Binder Tohani. Only 100% natural brown henna will be used, ensuring a safe and authentic cultural experience.
