HARPSICHORD HAVEN invites audiences of all ages to enjoy an afternoon of Baroque & Contemporary music & short film. This free event 5pm–6pm in the beautiful “blue room” upstairs in The People’s Museum of Limerick will include a triple launch: 1) a PREMIERE PERFORMANCE of Early Music on Yonit Kosovske’s brand new tabletop ottavino lute-harpsichord, 2) a CD LAUNCH of “Apricity”—Yonit’s new album of contemporary music for solo & collaborative harpsichord, featuring live demonstration of new sounds for harpsichord with Yonit Kosovske & composer Eoin Callery, culminating with 3) a FILM SCREENING of “Litany” by composer/filmmaker Justin Grounds—in homage to 4 animals who recently went extinct, featuring music for baroque violin, harpsichord, hurdy-gurdy, and hand-pan. Free entry. Drop-ins welcome. Best to arrive early to assure a seat, as space is limited. This event is produced in collaboration with Now and Then Media, Ltd. and H.I.P.S.T.E.R. (Historically Informed Performance Series, Teaching, Education and Research).

This Venue is not Wheelchair accessible. While this event is not accessible to wheelchair users or other individuals with mobility issues due to limited access via stairs in a historic Georgian building, the event is autism/neurodivergent friendly and is open to all ages, backgrounds, and anyone interested in harpsichords as well as baroque and contemporary music, regardless of skill level or previous knowledge. As it is primarily a music event, the focus is on sound and geared to hearing-abled individuals. Discussions/announcements will be in English. The film is comprised of moving images and music with a short spoken poem in the beginning, accompanied by subtitles/captions.
