This Culture Night, The Church Café Bar invites visitors to discover the remarkable history of one of Dublin’s most iconic buildings on a free guided tour.

Originally opened as St. Mary’s Church in 1701, the building has welcomed many notable figures over the centuries, from Arthur Guinness, who was married here in 1761, to Taylor Swift. Visitors will explore the beautifully preserved interior while learning about its rich history, from its origins as Dublin’s first galleried church and George Frideric Handel’s connection with the historic Renatus Harris organ, through to its transformation into The Church Café Bar.

Following the tour, visitors are welcome to stay and enjoy the venue’s Culture Night programme of traditional Irish music and dancing, taking place from 18:30 to 21:30.

Tours take place every hour on the hour from 16:00 to 20:00, with a maximum of 10 places per tour. Advance booking is available through The Church’s booking widget by selecting “Culture Night Tour”, and visitors are asked to arrive 10 minutes before their scheduled tour.

Please note that this special Culture Night tour is separate from the venue’s regular guided history tour and does not include an Irish coffee or spirit tasting.
