Griffith College Dublin

Immersive Experience: The History Of Griffith College

Throughout its history, this site has been a prison, military barracks, and now a third-level institution. Hear from some of the people who have called it home, whether they lived at the Richmond Bridewell or Wellington Barracks.

Historian John Dorney will discuss five key historical events in the history of the campus: Bridewell Prisoner from 1836, Daniel O’Connell in 1844, James Stephens in 1860s, Joseph Poole in 1883, and various events from 1922 when the grounds were used by British military.
