GOCOM Radio is Ireland’s first ethnic minority interest and multilingual online community radio, we want to celebrate diversity and richness of our cultures as a community.
GOCOM Culture Café aims to celebrate the richness of our cultural differences, similarities, and uniqueness of our listening audience, through live broadcast of interviews, music and cultural performance, with multicultural cuisines.
The live broadcast will feature indigenous music from a pool of nationalities such as Africa, Ukraine, Mongolia, Poland, Albania, Morocco and more.
In collaboration with ARD Family Resource Centre, the Centre will be premiering a short film, ‘Our Words, One Voice’, directed by Mia Mullarkey. The film features voices from Doughiska’s multicultural community. It was filmed and produced in Doughiska, Galway during Spring 2021. It also features short film ‘Different’ which was created following a series ‘Spoken Word workshops’ with young people and was facilitated by Kelvin Akpaloo. The project was funded by Galway 2020 , Communities Integration Fund, National Youth Council of Ireland and Irish Aid.
GOCOM Radio will be interviewing the casts, crew and guests; playing music, bringing in a music Act, and food.
