Global Voices, Local Choices

- Offline
Description:
The Tower Museum will have on display a Mbira from the NMNI collections, a musical instrument traditionally from the Shona people of Zimbabwe.
‘Global Voices, Local Choices’ is a partnership project between National Museums NI, the Northern Ireland Museums Council and the African Caribbean Support Organisation. Funded from the Esmée Fairbairn Collections Fund, the project aims to bring diverse cultures and perspectives into NI local and national museums through empowering people to make choices relating to the National Museums NI World Cultures collections and how they are interpreted. The project will raise awareness and understanding of these collections, and how a decolonisation approach can be implemented in a fresh and inclusive way through creativity.
NOTE: at 11am with Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District, Patricia Logue. Runs 22 September – 23 October
