So much of our writing is raised behind the scaffold of place: the language of place, character in place, the place for politics, feeling out of place, this must be the place! Simply put: We are all standing somewhere when we write. Being aware of place and how to take advantage of its potential, is pivotal to every writer’s practice.

This Culture Night, Sept. 18^th, Naas Library and Cultural Centre with author & translator Keith Payne are hosting a 2.5-hour workshop open to all writers which will look closely at the possibilities to be found in considering the Place we are all writing from.

With group readings and critiques, directed writing activities and feedback, this session is to open to writers at all levels and across all genres.

No previous experience is necessary, and we particularly encourage participants from underrepresented groups and citizens whose first language is not English.
