Some of Europe’s most interesting large stone monuments are found on Ireland’s smallest islands. Focusing on the stone forts of the Aran Islands, this project presents some of the archaeological and scientific evidence for their creation, including excavated material. It also explores nature and traditions of the communities that created and still care for these spectacular sites.
Contributors include: textile artist Áine Ní Chonghaile, from the Inis Meáin Knitting Company; glass artist Róisín De Buitléar; silversmith Cóilín Ó Dubhghaill; ceramicist Katherine West; basket-maker Joe Hogan; knitter Elain McBride; graphic artist Maeve Clancy; woodturner Alan Meredith; currach-maker Patrick Flaherty, and film-maker Colm Hogan.
