The Tea Set at Fermoy International Garden

Offline

The Tea Set is a musical duo featuring Sarah Dewhurst on wind and Michelle Sheehan on vocals and guitar. They play a relaxed mix of pop and jazz classics, ideal for drinks receptions, afternoon tea and private parties.
Michelle is a multi-instrumentalist, who was awarded her piano diploma when she was 18 years and has been giving piano classes ever since. Michelle played rhythm guitar with the local indie rock band The Cherry Bombs. She joined The Speakeasy Jazz Band who featured for a number of years at the Cork Jazz Festival, playing both guitar and banjo.
Sarah has performed in a variety of musical groups for more years than a lady should admit to. These included The Showstoppers, Tuxedo Junction Big Band and Speakeasy Jazz Band. Sarah was musical director of Mitchelstown Musical Society for eight years. She teaches clarinet and saxophone at MTU Cork School of Music.
The Tea Set was borne out of practical research in hotels, restaurants and Afternoon Tea sessions where Sarah and Michelle felt they could add some musical ambiance. They play music that flows unobtrusively through conversations, filling any silences and yet also providing a focus when desired.
