Description:
On Culture Night 2023, Fab Lab Maker Hub and Creative Heartlands will collaborate with the Leitrim Sculpture Centre for a Pop Up Fab Lab. The Fab Lab team will demonstrate the creative possibilities of digital fabrication and design. On show will be key elements of the mobile Fab Lab who will give demos of laser cutting and engraving, 3D printed ceramics, 3D resin printing for metal casting, digital screen-printing, and vinyl cutting. Members of the public will be able to get some hands-on experience making digital screen-printed cards and laser cut wooden art. The public can also book in to future LSC workshops in these processes working across digital and analogue technologies, platforms and processes exploring their inter-connections and future potential. (4pm – 8pm)
In addition the Sculpture Centre will also open its doors to the main workshop areas in the factory where visitors can explore a range of traditional technical processes already used by artists and studio holders. (6 – 8pm)
An exhibition of recent work by artist in residence Francesca Hutchinson will be held in the gallery as well as a variety of arts and crafts work made by local communities, artists and makers in the Cluainín Community Pop-Up Shop on Main St. Both of these are available for viewing from (4 – 9pm)
Local food, coffee/tea and bar refreshments will be served in the Factory on Main. St. from (5pm – 8.30pm)
