Description:

A night of culture at Emper N.S. to bring rich, diverse and cultural experience to our local rural community and indeed the wider community.

The night's programme will include local;
Music
Poetry recitations
Storytelling
Displays of Craftwork
Displays of local historical and cultural memorabilia
Refreshments

There will be presentations to winners of the "Tess Coyne" memorial shield and the "Anne Maxwell" memorial shield. Tess (RIP) originated from Newtown, Empor and she excelled in her work with local crafts. i.e. crochet, knitting etc. She was very much involved in the local community and school. Anne Maxwell(RIP) originated from Empor. She held a B.A. (Music & English) and taught for many years in Carrick-on-Shannon. She was also a wonderful community member.

Prior to Culture Night we will invite entries to our "Craft" and "Poetry/Shortstory" (i.e. Creative Writing) competitions. The winners will be announced on the night.

The contents from the Emper Community Development Heritage Book will be on a constant roll for viewing on our large Interactive Boards.
