On Friday, September 17th at 6 p.m. Embassy of Lithuania invites you to participate in “Culture Night 2021” event dedicated to the Lithuanian Tatars culture. This year Lithuanian Tatar History and Culture marks 7️0️0️ years since the Grand Duke of Lithuania Gediminas formed a union with Tatars. This evening will be dedicated to mark unique, rich and diverse Lithuanian Tatars history, heritage and culture. Let’s meet and hear about the history and heritage of the Tatars in Lithuania, taste the famous Tatars cake “Šimtalapis”!
18.00 – Opening of the evening and exhibition „Lithuanian Tatars“
18.30 – Congratulation remarks by Lithuanian Ambassador Marijus Gudynas
18.45 – Meeting and discussion with Motiejus Jakubauskas, Deputy Chairman of the Union of Lithuanian Tartar Communities. Lecture on the history, culture and current life of Lithuanian Tartars communities
20.00 – Crimean Tatars today (in cooperation with the Embassy of Ukraine to Ireland)
20.20 – Tatars culinary heritage. Lithuanian Tatars have preserved their food traditions. The most famous Tatar dish in Lithuania is a hundred layer cake with poppy filling “Šimtalapis”. Tasting of traditional Tatars cake.
21.00 – Movie screening “The Ring of Loyalty”
22.00 – 23.00 – Discussions, exhibition, informal conversations
