Edel MacBride will deliver a visually engaging and informative knitting event on the Historic City Walls of Derry.
From two locations on the evening, the designer will bring together key elements of ancestral legacy and modern practice with the growth of slow clothing awareness. Knitting has deep cultural connection across communities and is often the forgotten skill and creative language of the woman ‘at-home’. With a strong history across Ulster, knitting and yarn craft have seen a massive growth internationally though the pandemic.
From very young visitors who will love the animated aspects and colour – play to a skilled crafter who will be inspired, the demonstration is open to all.
Weather permitting, the event is outside.
