Eco Showboat in Kildare

Artists Anne Cleary and Denis Connolly are navigating Ireland’s inland waterways meeting artists, scientists and communities to spark climate action on Mayfly, a solar powered yacht. For the final stop on their expedition, on Culture Night 2023, the Eco Showboat team invite you to join them in Naas for a joyful evening of art, ecology and music. Meet marine biologist Rachel O’Malley and her horde of invertebrates, tiny creatures that tell us about water quality. Hear Indeceltic, Irish Indian duo of folk singers with their collection of world songs celebrating nature. See a short documentary about life on the water in winter, made by Cleary and Connolly with Kildare artist Marta Golubowska. Try your hand at making clay impressions using plant life found close by, and meet Anne and Denis and hear all about their two year solar journey on the waterways.
