Echoes of Remembered Places | Screen-printing
Print and take home an original artwork with Northern Ireland artist Kwok Tsui Delivered in partnership with Derry Print Workshop
For Culture Night 2023 CCA hosts an interactive screen-printing workshop for people of all ages, partnering with Derry Print Workshop who will facilitate the free drop-in session.
This year draws on CCA’s 2023-24 Programme theme MADE // MANIFEST, a series of exhibitions and events exploring identity, environment and creating methods of expression. We invite Kwok Tsui, an artist who moved to Northern Ireland from China at
the age of 16. His solo exhibition opens on 23 September 2023 at CCA DLD and will be his most significant to date, marking a pivotal moment for Kwok as he has spent more of his life in NI than his native China. Kwok’s paintings are constructed from visual suggestions of belonging, home, borders and how these change over time, acting as echoes of remembered places.
This event will be an excellent lead in to Kwok’s solo exhibition. Kwok is invited, to produce an image to be exposed onto a silk-screen, giving children, young people and adults of all ages the opportunity to hand-print an original image on
quality paper. You will learn a new skill from Derry Print Workshop and take away an original print on the night.
