Éagsúlacht sa Chlár – Celebrating Cultural Diversity in Clare through Art and Dance

Musicians and dancers from Morocco, Bulgaria, Ireland, Poland, Ukraine, Ethiopia, Syria and Spain will lead short interactive workshops with the participants. Included will be dance, singing, drumming featuring traditional music from around the world. The event will feature a collaborative art project involving artists from the migrant population and Ireland working together to prepare a Chinese style dragon which all participants will create and assemble. In folk traditions and mythology the dragon is an important symbol in many cultures. We hope to incorporate recycled materials in the project. At the completion of the dragon a parade around the market place will be held.
This is a family friendly event suitable for all ages.
