Description:

Dunmore Through a Lens is a new multi-screen film and sound installation exploring the changing life of Dunmore East through archive photographs, home movies, contemporary footage and the voices of people connected to the harbour.

Presented outdoors at the Dunmore East Lighthouse Platform, the work looks back at a harbour once at the centre of a thriving fishing industry: the boats and crews, everyday life around the pier, the dangers of the sea, the decline of the fishing fleet and the changing character of the village.

Created by DuMo Collective for Culture Night 2026, the installation brings fragments of Dunmore East’s visual and living memory back to the harbour itself.

Friday 18 September 2026

Dunmore Through a Lens is ea suiteáil nua scannáin agus fuaime ilscáileáin a dhéanann iniúchadh ar shaol athraitheach Dunmore East trí ghrianghraif chartlainne, scannáin bhaile, píosaí scannáin chomhaimseartha agus guthanna daoine a bhfuil ceangal acu leis an gcuan.

Cuirfear an saothar i láthair faoin aer ag Ardán Theach Solais Dunmore East. Féachann sé siar ar thréimhse nuair a bhí an cuan i gcroílár tionscal rathúil iascaireachta: na báid agus na criúnna, saol laethúil na cé, contúirtí na farraige, meath an chabhlaigh iascaireachta agus athrú an tsráidbhaile.

Cruthaithe ag DuMo Collective d’Oíche Chultúir 2026, tugann an tsuiteáil cuimhní amhairc agus beo Dunmore East ar ais go dtí an cuan féin.
