This Culture Night, visitors are invited to explore the cultural connections between Dublin and Berlin through a talk and live performance by author, musician, and journalist Peter Murphy.
In Dublin x Berlin: A Tale of Two Cities, Murphy Peter will explore the cultural conversation between Dublin and Berlin, with a specific interest in cabaret as the progenitor of punk.
The talk will be followed by a live performance with Murphy’s band, Cursed Murphy, which brings together iconic German influences, such as Kraftwerk, Bertolt Brecht, and Kurt Weill in a genre-bending experience of spoken word and music.
This event is part of the European Culture Trail – a EUNIC Ireland (European Union National Institutes for Culture) in cooperation with the European Commission Representation in Ireland. There is a wheelchair accessible lift at the front of the building which enables wheelchair users to access the classrooms where the German Taster Classes will take place. The library is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible.
