This hour-long presentation led by Graham Hickey, Dublin Civic Trust’s Conservation Director, will explore the Trust’s three-year project to conserve 18 Ormond Quay Upper. The building is a handsome example of an 1840s merchant premises on the banks of the River Liffey.
This live presentation will explore the history and evolution of the building over time, the challenges faced in structural consolidation, the documentary sources used to inform piecing back missing elements, and the traditional skills and materials used to conserve the building as originally deployed in the 19th century. An opportunity will be provided for questions and answers at the end of the presentation.
