Drumlin Yarnspinners Night at Greenans Cross Old School

Monaghan County Library

Join Monaghan Libraries Storyteller in Residence, Francis McCarron, and the local community for an evening of storytelling, poetry, and song in Greenan’s Cross Schoolhouse on Sep 23rd. This beautiful cultural setting is the ideal place to share stories on Culture Night. Tales of schooldays, legend, and folklore will all get told! Local tales shared by local tellers are also sure to feature. This is a fun night not to be missed. Admission is free and there’s a cup of tea! If you wish to spend money, donations to Crocus Cancer Care will be gratefully accepted.

Francis McCarron has been sharing tales for over 30 years and is passionate about getting people to preserve and share their own stories, particularly those from his native county of Monaghan.

* The Storyteller in Residence is a Monaghan County Council Library Service project. It aims to develop a county Monaghan Storytelling Group, Drumlin Yarnspinners, to keep alive the ancient art of oral storytelling. It also seeks to gather local tales from across County Monaghan. If you are interested in learning more about storytelling or would like to tell at a future event contact Francis: email [email protected] / 087 2068601.
