This talk by Grace Maloney, will explore a fascinating range of written accounts from different periods, including accounts by visitors to County Monaghan and diaries written by farmers, women, clerics, political activists and soldiers. It will also look at extensive memoirs reflecting on people’s lives, including experiences of life in other countries.

The topic will also encourage the audience to think about the importance of recording their own experiences, whether through keeping a daily diary or writing memoirs of their own lives.
