Portumna’s Culture Night Late will feature Ireland’s award winning barbershop quartet, Lady Barbalade, performing in the intimate setting of the Courtyard Café. Lady Barbalade are Hilary Harnett, Becky Gilbert, Clare Hayes-Brady and Ailbhe Hayes. The ladies have been devoted to Barbershop singing and fabulous dresses since their formation in 2015. They sing at home and abroad in both Barbershop and Choral contests, shows, and frequently tour with international male quartets.

Alongside their three recitals, Portumna Courthouse invites you, the audience,  to be the judge at the first Art Battle in Portumna. Six artists, six blank canvasses, lots of brushes, laughter and fun, use their creative skills live at the Courthouse. No preparation, the artists will be challenged to produce a finished piece in a theme-led, time-limited, 3-round event. Not to be missed and YOU, the audience judge the winner!

At the same time in Portumna’s Town Hall, screenings of a selected series of short Irish made films promise to delight on a visual journey from the award winning films from Screen Ireland. Featuring Ireland’s weather, bogs, traditional shops and furniture, and with three sittings, this night of free events from 9pm – midnight, is a feast of culture and arts.
