Join us for a special evening opening of the Russell Library as part of Culture Night 2026. Visitors will have the opportunity to view the library’s magnificent Pugin-designed reading room, one of Maynooth University’s most historic spaces. Library staff will be on hand throughout the evening to provide tours and answer questions about the collections, architecture and history of the Russell Library. The College Chapel will also be open on the night.

Guests can also explore The Salamanca Archive: A Story of Irish Exile and Return, 1592-1642, an exhibition showcasing remarkable documents that tell the story of Irish students, scholars and clergy who travelled to Salamanca during a period of religious and political upheaval and whose records eventually found their way back to Ireland.
