This Culture Night, St Andrew’s Church welcomes visitors to discover nearly 200 years of history, architecture, music, and community in the heart of Dublin.

A place of peace, prayer, and sacred music since the early nineteenth century, St Andrew’s has witnessed many defining moments in Irish history, from Daniel O’Connell and Pádraig Pearse to Éamon de Valera. Celebrated in James Joyce’s Ulysses and long associated with the Archbishops of Dublin, the church continues to serve local residents, daily commuters, and Dublin’s Lithuanian and Chinese communities.

Throughout the evening, visitors can enjoy guided tours exploring the church’s art, architecture, and history, alongside a talk on notable figures associated with St Andrew’s, including Archbishop Daniel Murray, Daniel O’Connell, Catherine McAuley, Sir Dominic Corrigan, and the Pearse brothers.

The programme also features musical performances by the Lithuanian and Chinese communities, an organ recital by resident organist Mark McCrystal, and sacred music performed by St Andrew’s Parish Choir.
