Join artist Serena Devereux, recipient of the 2026 VECTOR Digital Arts Residency, for a special Culture Night event at MERITS Innovation Hub, Naas.

Cybernetic Ecologies is a digital art installation exploring the evolving relationship between nature, technology and data. Drawing on local weather conditions and 3D scans of plant species from Kildare, the work uses live weather data to generate moving digital imagery in real time, creating an artwork that continuously changes in response to the environment. The installation invites audiences to consider how digital systems, natural processes and human experience are increasingly interconnected.

The event will include an informal artist’s talk (from 4-5pm) by Serena Devereux, offering insight into her research, creative process and residency experience, as well as the technologies and ecological themes that underpin the work. Devereux is a multidisciplinary visual artist from Kildare whose practice spans video, CGI, AI, creative coding and immersive installation, examining how technology shapes our understanding of reality, identity and place.

This free event is open to all and will be of interest to audiences engaged with art, technology, climate action, biodiversity, digital innovation and placemaking.
