- Offline
Description:
Dance Limerick is delighted to participate in Culture Night one more year and this time, we do
so with a music and dance-filled night for all audiences that is sure to inspire, move and get
everybody on the dancefloor!
6pm The Golden Flood of Memory
Culture Night offers you the opportunity to see ‘The Golden Flood of Memory’ for a second
time!
‘The Golden Flood of Memory’ is a beautifully moving community choreographic project lead
by DL. Bridge artist Katy Hewison in partnership with Age & Opportunity, originally
commissioned by Bealtaine Festival 2023.
After months of working together with a group of member of the broader Limerick community,
these artists present us a performance that is bursting with joy.
The Golden Flood invites all ages to come together and learn how to support one another and
collaborate using care, connection, and teamwork.
‘But there all the same’
Following this performance, audiences will have the chance to see Limerick Youth Dance
Company’s newest piece, ‘but there all the same’, choreographed by Rachel Sheil.
‘On an alien planet, these citizens explore their new life. “I am finally free. I made my own
choice, and based on my own ideals.” Ready to thrive, but a little battle-scarred… and tired…
and worn, with their souls a little torn… but there all the same.’
After touring youth festivals in Ireland over the summer, LYDC comes back to Limerick for an
incredibly energetic performance which you will not want to miss!
