Description:
This Culture Night, 22nd of September, get down to Mo Chara at 8pm to celebrate the great culture of Dundalk and have the craic while doing it! Cultúr agus Craic will be a night to celebrate local live music, art, food & beer.
Firstly - the art! Local artist Juliette Morrison will be launching her exhibition upstairs at Mo Chara formerly known as Quaglino’s restaurant. Juliette has selected some of her favourite paintings to display as a pop-up gallery for you to enjoy. She bases the composition of her paintings on old magazine covers, records, posters and classical paintings, but changes the subject matter to relate to an event that has happened in her life with a tongue-in-cheek humour. Come check out the work of one of Dundalk’s most up and coming artists.
Next - the music! We have teamed up with Classified Records in Dundalk to showcase a top evening of the vinyl culture in Dundalk on Mo Chara’s in house decks. There’ll be live DJ sets from Dundalk’s most famed vinyl DJ’s with the theme of showcasing local artists work.
In the beer garden, expect a lively and upbeat performance from local band, The Decades! These guys will play everything from your 90’s dance floor fillers to showcasing local artists like David Keenan & The Corrs.
Finally, food & beer! Mo Chara from the beginning has always championed local suppliers at the heart of their offering. Cultúr agus Craic will see beers from local breweries as the main choice of refreshment for the evening. As always, Mo Chara’s Sing Li Pizza will be the star of the show showcasing Dundalk’s own curry which has become part of the town’s fabric. Only this time on a hand-rolled pizza with buttermilk fried chicken, hand cut fries, fresh mozzarella and parmesan.
