This exhibition showcases the work of amateur photographers in Limerick during the lockdown in March, April, May and June 2020. It was a study in documentary photography.
Inspired by a growing body of similar projects internationally Limerick woman Michelle Daly Hayes founded the Covid-19 Doorstep Portraits project in Limerick in March 2020 to capture the people of Limerick during this unusual time. The conditions of lockdown were not broken by the photographers, staying within their 2km and 5 km radius, during their one walk or exercise per day, and not going within 2m of any family.
The photos here are only a sample of those taken and capture the ‘unmoment’ the photos before and after a portrait. Photographers: Michelle Daly Hayes, Jantien Shoenmakers, Alan McAree.
