Description:

For the first time in its history, the Office of the Attorney General will open its doors to the public as part of Culture Night, offering a rare opportunity to step inside one of the State’s most significant legal institutions.

The Attorney General attends Cabinet as the legal adviser to the Government and is the chief law officer of the State, leading significant litigation on behalf of the Irish State before domestic and international courts.

The Office of the Attorney General building, located on Upper Merrion Street, adjacent to the Department of the Taoiseach, is steeped in history and tradition. The building itself has played a quiet but vital role in shaping the legal landscape of modern Ireland.

For one night only, tours will run on a pre-booked, first come, first served basis. A limited number of places are available across three time slots throughout the evening. Visitors on the night will get a unique insight into the day-to-day workings of the Office and the role it plays at the heart of Irish public law.

Whether visitors have an interest in law, history, architecture, or simply enjoying a walk around the building, this tour promises something a little different for Culture Night.

Strictly, one ticket per person. Spaces are limited, early booking is strongly recommended.
