Cork Opera House is delighted to host Karen Underwood’s Great Black American Songbook.
This is Karen Underwood going home to her roots. Karen and a piano; bringing you from the underground railroad to Cork City performing music from classic spirituals and gospel to Jazz and Soul. She will be accompanied by Daniel Murphy, making his debut on keys, at Cork Opera House.
Get on board this train visiting the music of artists like Ella Fitzgerald, Duke Ellington, Louie Armstrong, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye and more.
‘This Vol.1 of my favourite tunes of the Black American Songbook. I want to share this experience with my Irish family. Looking forward to seeing you all again,’ she said ahead of the event.
This event is Sold Out. Due to government restrictions we are currently welcoming an audience of 50 for this performance. Should restrictions ease we look forward to increasing our audience capacity accordingly.
