Oriel (southeast Ulster) is regarded as one of the richest regions in Ireland for traditional music and song and was considered a traditional music mecca during the 18th and 19th centuries. Colleen Savage – a singer, songwriter and tour guide – is passionate about Oriel song and the singing tradition.
Sat by a woodburning stove, Colleen will treat participants to a traditional singing workshop where they will learn a macaronic Oriel Song (English and Irish language) and about the magical tradition of Oriel singing and poetry in southeast Ulster. Delivered via Zoom, this 1-hour workshop is open to adults of all singing abilities. No prior experience is required.
Time: 7.30pm - 8.30pm
