“Capture the Time” – an exhibition of Cobh family photos from the 1950s and 1960s. A look back at the time when families came out onto the streets of Cobh to walk, to shop or to play, or maybe just to sit and enjoy life almost 70 years ago. A chance, too, to discover how we took photographs before the era of digital cameras. Also on show is our long-running and successful exhibition
“Lusitania – A Day in May” where you can trace some of the personal stories of passengers on RMS Lusitania and see the unique Lusitania biscuit taken from a lifeboat in Cork Harbour.
Cobh Museum is open daily from April to October and is housed in the former Scots Presbyterian Church built in 1854. Exhibitions reflect the history of Cork Harbour and the town of Cobh (once called Queenstown). Staff are glad to provide advice on genealogical research. See our website (www.cobhmuseum.com) for times of opening and further details of the varied exhibitions on show.
