Description:

Enjoy a night of poetry, storytelling, history, and traditional tales with local writers Joel Smith, Gerry Bohan, Trish Bennett and David Spence, plus the opportunity to ask questions of the writers during the Artists’ Talk afterwards.

After the readings, demonstrations will take place with Fibre Artists Kasia Macudzinzka, Rebecca Sweeney, Róisin Campbell and Dani Thulliers and will include basket weaving, drop spindle spinning, hand knitting, and needle felting.

Fibre Arts practice dates back thousands of years and remains unchanged and unrushed to this day.

Come along and watch history unfold as artists weave and spin, vessels, clothing and moveable art using the same processes are were utilised aeons ago.

Complimentary refreshments will be provided. All are welcome to this FREE event.

Cluainín Community Co-op represents over one hundred arts practitioners from across Irelands northwest.

The shop is a not-for-profit space run by volunteers from the local arts community and is supported by Leitrim Sculpture Centre.
