We are inviting a cross section of ten or so writers from Galway City and County to read from their latest work for five minutes each. We will take a musical break at around 6.30 pm to hear a short set from our own Brigid Mae Power, Galway-based multi-instrumentalist known for her ruminative, atmospheric indie folk.
Brigid Mae’s last album ‘Head Above the Water’ was described by critics as ‘Superb’ and ‘as a rare and effortless take on modern Folk’ Power’s vocal talents are very special indeed and she is slowly gathering a body of work that puts her in the frontline of the new folk movement.
We will return to our readers for the second half of the evening. Further details of personnel and timings will be available on our Facebook page on Culture Night itself.
