Description:

The Ceol Mo Chroí Culture Club is an intergenerational performance and community participatory event devised and delivered by Rachel Uí Fhaoláin (Ceol Mo Chroí) and John Ó Faoláin (Traditional Archive Channel). The community, across the generations, are invited to come together in The Book Café i nGuaire from 7pm – 9pm on Oíche Chultúir for an evening of traditional song, music, stories, poetry and dance, while supporting the Irish language.

To open the Ceol Mo Chroí Culture Club 2026, and to mark the 100th year anniversary of the final publication of An tAthair Pádruig Breathnach (1904-1926), traditional singer and folklorist Rachel Uí Fhaoláin will present some of her research outcomes from her Artlink’s 2025 Bursary, local recordings she unearthed pertaining to a repertoire of 1798 Wexford Ballads that she has been working on from the songbooks of An tAthair Pádruig Breathnach. The sharing of this important material back into the community of North Wexford and an opportunity for participants to learn these local songs, will be delivered by Rachel Uí Fhaoláin in collaboration
with family members of the recorded local singers who have since passed.

This is a wonderful opportunity for the community to get involved in the transmission of important cultural material across the generations in Co. Wexford. Fáilte roimh chách!
