Elevate with Aerial Cirque

**Please see details of road closures on Dame Street and College Green to facilitate this event here.**

Look to the skies on Culture Night for a heart-stopping, one-of-a-kind spectacle on the soon-to-be-opened Central Plaza on Dame Street.

Metal meets muscle on the Dublin skyline in Elevate, a breathtakingly beautiful, gravity-defying show created and performed by Ireland’s leading aerialists Aerial Cirque, with music by Cork-based composer Peter Power and visuals by Bulgarian artist Petko Panchev.

This event is commissioned by Dublin City Council for Dublin Culture Night, with kind support from Hines and Stewart Construction.

Aerial Cirque

Based above Dunnes on Exchequer Street in Dublin City Centre, Aerial Cirque is a home for budding and professional aerialists. They teach adult and children’s aerial classes and provide stunning high end aerial performances for festivals, corporate events, launches, night clubs, runways, weddings, and more.

Petko Panchev

Petko Tanchev is a visual artist based in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. In 2008, he graduated from National Academy of Art, Sofia with a bachelor’s in Scenography and continued with a master’s in Original Visual Performance Design. He has worked as a stage and costume designer, with a keen focus on incorporating video installations in live theatrical performances. He also did numerous art projects that have been featured in museums, music clubs and festivals both nationals and internationally

Peter Power

Peter Power is a composer, director and sound designer from Waterford, based in Cork. His interests are in the collaborative creation of events using music as a non-linear narrative source. His passion for composition stems from a want to pursue what cultural theorist and Architectural critic Charles Jencks called ‘extreme emotional arousal’: to control the definition of time and to express a scale of idea beyond conversation through extraordinary contexts.

About Central Plaza

Acquired by Hines Ireland in 2017, in partnership with the Peterson Group in Hong Kong, Central Plaza is a dramatic new meeting point where Dublin’s north and south city centres converge. Made up of a cluster of five upgraded buildings, classical and contemporary architecture unite around a stunning two-tier town square to create a dynamic new destination for modern workforces, shoppers and diners. The re-development will bring more than 15,284 sq m of retail, office and restaurants to Dublin’s City Centre, including an iconic new rooftop bar and restaurant which will provide patrons with unrivalled 360-degree views of the city extending as far as Phoenix Park, Howth Head and the Wicklow Mountains.
