‘Celebrating Local’ is a celebration of artists stocked in SHINE located in Slane, Co. Meath ……. some who are only returning to the live scene after a prolonged enforced absence and who never got to launch releases of new work in 2020. The Annulments, originally formed from a group of friends studying in UCD, are made up of musicians with varied backgrounds, from rock and folk to classical and contemporary music. The group perform original songs written by Stephen Coyle, informed by influences including traditional Irish and American folk music, country, soul, and rock. Their 2020 release, Dead Preservations is available in SHINE and we look forward to hearing some of these tracks live on the night. The night will also include Spoken word by Cormac Noonan of Wolf Academy, from his book of poetry Mac Tíre Tales, and a Cross-stitch workshop with textile artist Jillian Gott. Jillian will be working on a largescale site-specific piece, come along and learn one of the simplest stitches in embroidery. Joining them also on the night will be a selection of artists and makers from different disciplines and practices, from ceramics to felt making.
