Description:

This Culture Night, An Taibhdhearc throws open its doors and welcomes people into the theatre to experience the work in-progress of its Taibhsín artists, with a celebration of a year spent dreaming, writing and making at the National Irish Language Theatre.

The free event gives audiences a first look at works in progress by some of the artists supported through Taibhsín, An Taibhdhearc’s development programme for artists working professionally in the Irish language.

New stories will move from page to stage for the first time with works in progress from Ciara Ní É, Louisa Ní Éidean and Seán Mac Dhonnagáin, alongside a new spoken-word piece as Gaeilge, Litir do Mhacasamhail, by Ola Majekodunmi.

Directed by Em Ball / O’Ceallaigh with a cast that includes Ann Marie Horan and Diarmuid de Faoite, Taibhsín: Ó Bhrionglóid go Beo offers audiences the chance to encounter these works at a pivotal moment – as they make the leap from development to performance. Audiences are welcome to attend the entire evening or for individual performances.

Ar Oíche Chultúir i mbliana, beidh doirse na Taibhdheirce ar oscailt agus beidh fáilte roimh dhaoine teacht chun saothair atá á gcruthú ag na healaíontóirí atá mar chuid de Taibhsín a fheiceáil, le ceiliúradh ar an mbliain atá caite acu ag brionglóideach, ag scríobh agus ag cruthú san Amharclann Náisiúnta na Gaeilge.

Beidh an t-imeacht saor in aisce agus beidh deis ag an lucht féachana breathnú ar shaothair atá cruthaithe ag na healaíontóirí atá mar chuid de Taibhsín, an clár forbartha d’ealaíontóirí na Taibhdheirce, do scríbhneoirí, d’amharclannóirí agus d’ealaíontóirí taibhithe atá ag obair go gairmiúil i nGaeilge.

Beidh scéalta nua le Ciara Ní É, Louisa Ní Éidean agus Seán Mac Dhonnagáin, agus filíocht ó bhéal as Gaeilge, Litir do Mhacasamhail, le hOla Majekodunmi.

Beidh Em Ball / O’Ceallaigh ag stiúradh agus beidh Ann Marie Horan agus Diarmuid de Faoite mar chuid den chliar. Tugann Taibhsín: Ó Bhrionglóid go Beo deis don lucht féachana an saothar seo a fheiceáil ag uain chinniúnach – agus iad ag bogadh ó fhorbairt go léiriú. Beidh fáilte roimh dhaoine fanacht don imeacht ar fad nó freastal ar léirithe ar leith.
